Surface Mount Soldering Workshop

This Friday (1st) at 5pm, we will be going over to the Embedded Systems Hub in the Beyster Building (CSE Building) for a surface mount soldering tutorial given to us by Jon Kurzer.

Unfortunately we still haven’t received our printed circuit boards in the post so we will not be able to work on our project as part of the tutorial, but it will still be a great chance to learn about the space as we will most likely be using it to solder our components to our boards.

We’ll meet in the foyer at 4.55pm and find our way!

LUMENOTBOTS!!

So,
Update with where we are at…

We have some (but not all) LEDs. They rock, 16 per lantern just like in the video looks amazing and is definitely bright enough.

We have all of the board components.
We do not have all of the boards themselves… some mix ups in the order mean that it may take longer than a week.

We are booked in to go to the Embedded Systems Hub for Friday March 1st at 5pm to go and learn how to solder our surface mount boards.
We hope to have the PCBs by then so we can work on our actual project, rather than having to mock up a PCB to get some test versions working. Fingers crossed!

We’re in the process of sorting out a website for our newly named ‘Lumenotbots’.

So yip. Im excited.
