Board Repair Session

Tomorrow (Friday 6th) at 12.45ish onwards in Design Lab 1 at the Duderstadt we will be going through the lumenotbot boards used back in Festifools and doing repairs on those that need it. Even if you don’t have soldering / board skills, come on down, we can always use a few extra hands to help the ArtPrize effort.

ArtPrize – September 28th

We’re going to ArtPrize!

We’ll be collaborating with the FoolMoon crew again to put together a lumenotbot-filled parade, similar to last April, except this time around in the settings of one of the largest public art festivals in the world.

To get the ball rolling, lets meet in DL1 (First Floor, Duderstadt Center, North Campus) this Wednesday (31st) at 1pm.

Thanks Everyone

I want to say first of all it was a pleasure working with all involved in out Lumenotbot project.

Electronic Lunch will not formally meet again until the fall but we will be continuing on with Lumenotbot projects over the summer with some talk of the Detroit Maker Faire & of our own project of having these guys float down a river in August…

But for the meantime I hope your end to this semester winds down nicely and that the sun comes back out

Final Luminary Public Workshop in Workantile this Sunday

Hello all…

Its crunch time on the Lumenotbots. We will need to have a manufacturing extravaganza soon to complete the rest of the boards but this Sunday we will be meeting in the Workantile again at 12pm, on South Main Street.

We will hopefully have some working demos to show off, finish up some LED strips, and all the little things that still need to be sorted out.

See you then!

Luminary Workshops in the Workantile

Every Sunday in the month of March, Festifools are hosting their Luminary making workshops at the Workantile on South Main Street from 10am to 5pm.

Mark Tucker the organiser kindly agreed to having us show up and work on our project alongside those creating their own luminaries. I popped in to see the space last Sunday and it looked like a lot of fun with some cool lantern sculptures and lots of people milling about.

So we will be there this Sunday to code and show off our Lumenotbots in progress, come along!

Public Lumenotbot Making Workshop 22nd March 5pm

Just to let y’all know that we will be having our Lumenotbot public workshops at All Hands Active in downtown Ann Arbor at 5pm on Friday 22nd of March.

The workshop will start at 5pm and we have the space until 9pm.

We will most likely have another workshop on Friday 29th too.

So pop it into your diaries!

Surface Mount Soldering Workshop

This Friday (1st) at 5pm, we will be going over to the Embedded Systems Hub in the Beyster Building (CSE Building) for a surface mount soldering tutorial given to us by Jon Kurzer.

Unfortunately we still haven’t received our printed circuit boards in the post so we will not be able to work on our project as part of the tutorial, but it will still be a great chance to learn about the space as we will most likely be using it to solder our components to our boards.

We’ll meet in the foyer at 4.55pm and find our way!
